Lee and Shane travelled from Perth to have their stunning wedding in the Hunter Valley, on what was probably the windiest day of the year! They had a garden ceremony held in the Manor Garden area and fortunately that was sheltered to some extent by a fairly high wall most of the way around. It was too windy for too many outdoor shots, but here are a few photographs from their special day.

Australian Bridal Photography Competition

A couple of months ago I decided to enter one of my photographs in the Australian Bridal Photography Competition in the section "Open Brief" and to my surprise last week, I was awarded placement in the top 5.

Below is the photograph and I took it while guests were gathering at the church and waiting for the bride's arrival. The Bestman was standing around with his hands in his pockets, so I asked if he had the rings in his pocket and his answer was "yes I do", (fortunately!) so I asked if I could "borrow" them for a moment or two as I saw a lovely twig with lichen on it and could visualise the two wedding bands on the twig and perhaps capture one of the wedding guests in the background, and this is what I have done. Have a close look at the reflection in the wedding band and you will see a guest.

I always like to arrive at the ceremony venue early, and always look for photographic opportunities while waiting for the bride to arrive.

Ellen and Peter had a beautiful wedding on Saturday in Belmont, NSW and the weather was beautiful until later in our afternoon photo shoot when the clouds rolled in and the wind got up with the temperature dropping with the southerly change. Here are some photos we took before, and as the weather was changing. I have also included a couple of Ellen getting ready as well.

I have spent most of this week in the Hunter Valley and these photos I took of Claire at the Cyprus Lakes Resort - a fabulous venue, especially if you are planning a wedding with many beautiful backdrops from trees to lakes, to swimming pools. These photos were taken late afternoon.
