Artistique Photography by Nicolette - Sunset Portrait Shoot.

Late afternoon in the Hunter Valley

28.8.12.

This week I have been in the Hunter Valley and would like to share these photos with you of Claire during a late afternoon and evening photo shoot.  The first two photos were taken of Claire just after sunset, so I used a flash, but all other photos were all natural lighting and no adjustments made in photoshop.  If you are wanting beautiful "warm" outdoor photos for your wedding or portrait, then the best time of the day is sunrise (maybe too early for many!), or in that "golden hour" before sunset.  It is well worth considering when planning your wedding ceremony (which usually takes 25 - 30 minutes) and then official photos with family and friends (another 20 minutes), to allow an hour for your official photos and if possible to plan that around the hour before sunset.  At this time of the year for September / October weddings that is easy to do with the sun setting around 5.30pm / 6.00pm.  When planning your wedding, it is a good idea to chat with your photographer who can advise you on sunset times.  If your wedding is during the middle of summer during daylight saving time, then I usually manage to sneak my bride and groom out from the reception for a few minutes just to capture some of those magical warm sunset shots.
